Email Security
Email Security is the set of all measures with which organizations protect their email communication against phishing, malware, business email compromise and data loss. In most organizations, email remains the most important communication channel and at the same time the most frequent attack vector.
Modern email security goes far beyond spam filters: multi-layered protective mechanisms before, during and after delivery are required, supplemented by user context, threat data and automated response. In cloud-based environments such as Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace (cloud email security), API integration, behavioral analysis and the protection of modern collaboration environments are added, because email, identity and cloud applications are closely interlinked. For outgoing messages, email security and Data Loss Prevention interlock, for example when sensitive data leaves the email channel. This area thus largely determines how effectively an organization's IT Security is positioned against social engineering and identity-based attacks.
