Identity Security
Identity Security is the protection of digital identities, accounts, credentials and permissions against misuse. The term is so important because stolen or misused credentials are among the most common entry points of modern attacks. Identity security goes beyond classic identity and access management, since not only administration but also detection and response play a role. Typical questions concern risky logins, privilege escalation, misused service accounts or unusual authentication flows.
In hybrid and cloud-oriented environments, identity is often the new security perimeter. This area is therefore closely linked to multi-factor authentication, Zero Trust Security and behavioral analytics. For organizations, identity security pays off in the form of a smaller attack surface and better control over privileged access. Dedicated Identity Security solutions bring these functions together.
