SaaS Security

SaaS Security is the protection of cloud-based applications such as collaboration, CRM or HR systems. As more and more business-critical data is processed in SaaS platforms, the attack surface is increasingly shifting to this area as well. Typical risks are compromised user accounts, insecure configurations, over-privileged integrations and uncontrolled data sharing. A resilient SaaS security concept therefore creates transparency about the applications used, access, permissions and unusual activities.

This is particularly relevant in the case of shadow IT and when numerous third-party apps are connected. SaaS security is closely linked to Identity Security, Data Protection and Zero Trust Security. Organizations benefit when they look not only at the application itself, but also at the interplay of users, data and APIs. The term continues to gain importance because SaaS has long ceased to be a marginal topic and is now the standard in modern IT landscapes.
