AG implements Serviceware Financial to gain IT cost transparency as it continues to raise the innovation bar in a digital-first marketplace

  • Today it has been announced that AG, the market leader in the Belgian insurance market, is implementing Serviceware Financial, a software tool dedicated to the financial management of IT and shared services

AG’s vision is to be the ‘supporter of your life’ and this drives everyone working there. Putting the customer at the heart of everything it does is paramount as AG pushes the boundaries of innovation with exceptional digital services. Using data sources from connected objects to behavioural insights will put AG at the forefront of its industry and IT will play a bit part in achieving this vision. As AG evolves its digitalisation plans, these investments must deliver optimum business benefits and value.

In today’s turbulent economic climate, and amid ongoing pressures to free up liquidity to drive digital transformation efforts, effective cost management is critical. Having previously used an in-house tool to manage IT costs, AG sought a more robust and flexible solution to assist with its future growth plans and to enable the business to thrive in a digital-first era. Through this ambition, the need to move to a standard cost model, based on a technology business management (TBM) framework with a level of flexibility, became clear. AG then needed a market tool to support this model and mindset shift.

In identifying the best tool for the job, AG was drawn to Serviceware’s offering. As a market-leading IT financial management solution, Serviceware Financial stood out from the crowd as a perfect fit for AG’s requirements, both in terms of functionality and the expertise of the project team.

Implementation is now underway with the Serviceware and AG teams continuing to work closely together. Once completed, AG will use Serviceware Financial for the creation of a new cost model, planning, budgeting, forecasting and reporting, as well as cross-charging to internal and external customers.

Hilde De Valck, IT Cost Controller at AG, commented, “My team and I are excited to move to Serviceware Financial for future IT cost management at AG. During the proof of concept (POC) phase, we already experienced some ‘hands on’ aspects of the software and are now confident that the new tool responds to our requirements and is flexible enough to support future business challenges.”

Ronnie Wilson, Group Executive Vice President at Serviceware, commented, “We are extremely excited to be working with AG and assisting the financial management of its IT. As a strategic partner, Serviceware will scale and offer agility as AG’s needs change and grow. Cost management has never been more important as a focus for organisations, and we are proud to be able to provide the accurate cost data and IT visibility that our clients need, in order to flourish.”
