Multi-Tenant Management

Multi-Tenant Management is the central administration of several tenants within a security, cloud or compliance environment. It is relevant for organizations with several Microsoft 365 tenants, international group and holding structures, and for service providers that look after many customer environments.

Core requirements include the consistent distribution of policies across all tenants (ideally with inheritance and tenant-specific exceptions), cross-tenant monitoring and reporting, cleanly separated administration rights per tenant and strict data isolation between the environments. Without central administration, inconsistent policies, media breaks and high administrative effort quickly arise – and the problem multiplies with every additional tenant.

The need is particularly pronounced among managed service providers, who have to enforce security and governance standards efficiently across many customer environments – multi-tenant capability is the basis of scalable Managed Services there.
