Incident Response

Incident Response is the set of all organizational and technical measures for handling a security incident, as a sub-area of IT security. Typically, the process ranges from detection and assessment through containment and eradication to recovery and follow-up. The aim is to limit damage, preserve evidence and restore normal operations as quickly and in as controlled a manner as possible. Resilient incident response requires clear roles, communication channels, decision-making authority and prepared scenarios.

Especially in critical situations, it becomes clear how important practiced processes and coordinated responsibilities are. In addition to the technical response, documentation, legal assessment and lessons learned also play a major role. For organizations, incident response is therefore not just an emergency plan, but a central component of their Cyber Resilience. Where internal resources are lacking, Managed Services can complement these capabilities operationally. Operationally, automated attack detection helps to separate relevant signals from less critical events more quickly.
