XIoT Security
XIoT Security is the protection of connected physical systems beyond classic IT endpoints. These include IoT, OT, ICS and IoMT environments, which play a central role in manufacturing, energy supply, logistics or healthcare. These systems are considered particularly sensitive because outages or manipulation can have a direct impact on processes, safety and availability. At the same time, many XIoT assets are difficult to patch, remain in use for a long time and are not designed for classic IT security methods.
XIoT security therefore above all needs transparency about devices, communication, risks and identities within these environments. The prioritization of vulnerabilities must also be carried out differently here than in the classic office IT context. For organizations in critical or industrial sectors, XIoT security is increasingly becoming a strategic topic. The term thus stands for the extension of cyber defense to business-critical, connected plants and devices. Automated Security Validation can help to continuously test protective measures against realistic attack scenarios.
