Identity Platform

An Identity Platform is a central solution for managing digital identities and access rights within an organization. It bundles identity functions that would otherwise be spread across several individual tools into a common, consistently managed architecture.

The typical range of functions includes single sign-on, multi-factor authentication, directory and HR integration, lifecycle and provisioning processes, governance functions such as recertifications, and open APIs and standards (SAML, OpenID Connect, SCIM) for integrating applications and directories. The platform concept thus differs from the use of isolated point solutions: policies, logging and user experience remain consistent across all connected systems.

In complex IT landscapes with numerous cloud and SaaS services, an identity platform creates transparency and control over all access by users, devices and services. It thus forms the technical basis on which Identity Security is implemented operationally.
