Cross-Application Backup

Cross-Application Backup is a backup approach in which data from several applications is protected via a common backup and recovery structure. In SaaS environments, this can include collaboration, CRM, identity, HR and development platforms, for example. The aim is consistent management of policies, retention, search and recovery across different applications.

The approach is particularly relevant when business processes link data from several systems. An isolated backup of individual applications can secure the respective data, but does not automatically take into account relationships, permissions and dependencies between the platforms. Recovery order and responsibilities should therefore be planned across applications.

Cross-application backup supports a central data strategy and can simplify the management of heterogeneous SaaS landscapes. Structured Data Management and Data Integration help to control dependencies between applications consistently.
