Adversary Intelligence

Adversary Intelligence is the branch of threat intelligence that focuses on specific threat actors and their motives, tools, target industries and methods. Unlike general threat intelligence, it is more strongly about understanding real adversaries and their typical attack patterns. For organizations, this is particularly helpful when protective measures are to be tailored to their own risk profile. Instead of treating every theoretical threat equally, relevant actors and TTPs can be prioritized. Adversary intelligence thus supports both operational detection and strategic decisions.

It provides context for hunting hypotheses, tabletop exercises, prioritization of vulnerabilities and management reports. Compared with general Threat Intelligence, the focus is on the concrete Threat Actors behind the attacks. Especially in regulated or heavily attacked industries, this knowledge can make a noticeable difference. The term stands for a more adversary-oriented view of IT Security rather than purely technology-centered defense.
