Serviceware SE introduces innovative appointment scheduling for healthcare institutions to manage safety and utilization of testing facilities

  • Serviceware Resources Appointment Planning ensures safe patient logistics and utilization of testing facilities
  • Unique “smart search” feature checks on all available time slots to provide the patient with the best location and appointment time
  • Simple and secure self-service web portal for patients without the need for a user account

Bad Camberg Serviceware SE (“Serviceware“, ISIN DE000A2G8X31) has developed a solution to support laboratories in scheduling their patient visits in these difficult times. Due to the Covid-19 crisis, practicing social distancing is more important than ever leading to an urgent need to manage visitor capacities at test sites and in waiting areas in order to minimize social contacts and spread of the virus. To satisfy this demand, the ISO 27001-certified Dutch subsidiary helpLine BV has developed a widget for the scheduling of blood drawing appointments. With the help and integration of Serviceware Resources (aka Careware), this tool provides a better overview of the daily schedule for the laboratories and makes it easier for patients to make appointments.

With “Serviceware Resources Appointment Planning”, patients can easily access a web portal, fill in their information, and make an appointment for a blood test that fits their own schedule. Once all the information has been processed, the widget will conduct a smart search into all available time slots to provide the patient with the best time for their appointment.

The widget can be used without creating a user account and will help laboratories and doctor’s offices to avoid capacity issues. Patients get an email and/or text message to notify them of their appointment. The smart search also ensures there are minimal empty timeslots for the laboratories. The solution is available now and has a short implementation period compared to more complex planning assistants.

Laboratories can generate overviews in their existing Serviceware Resources environment, filtering all appointments per location or even per room. Furthermore, the Consultation Hour Dashboard gives the laboratories the capability to monitor the KPIs of their services in real-time. That way they can maximize their testing capacity without under- or overbooking the schedule.

“We are excited to introduce this solution to our patients and our staff in June. Needless to say, the wellbeing of our patients is our absolute priority. With this Serviceware solution, we can minimize the risk of infection in the appointment making process”, says Peter Smits, Manager Operations at Atalmedial, the biggest laboratory in the capital Amsterdam area. He adds: ”Furthermore, we appreciate the enhanced utilization of our rare and valuable facilities.”

“I am pleased that our team in Leiden has been able to deliver this solution very quickly to both the people and the medical institutions”, says Dirk K. Martin, CEO of Serviceware. “Today, it is important to guarantee data security, simplicity, self-service and optimal utilization of critical resources at the same time. Working closely with our customers, we have succeeded here.”
